Favorite Forum Script
So whats everyone's favorite forum script? Free and paid.
For paid, if I had to choose, it'd have to be vBulletin being as every big forum uses it and the majority of people are used to it. I do like the IPB admincp way better though, it's so clean and crisp. Xenforo is a new script that came out. It's made by the originals writers of vbulletin. It looks pretty nice. As for free scripts I'm not really sure. I choose PHPBB for these boards, but the more I use it, the more I hate it. Vanilla seems cool but it's missing a lot of good features in my opinion. It's hard to find a script thats not bloated with useless features. Considering give mybb a go, but it's so annoying to convert the skin/board. How about you guys? ![]() UndergroundHipHop.me - Underground Hip Hop Blog |

Re: Favorite Forum Script
Xenforo sounds pretty solid tbh, but I'm wondering, How will you finance it? I mean, are you going to set up a paypal account when we get more members, for donations?
I'd recommend not relying completely on donations though.

Re: Favorite Forum Script
Just discussing my favorites, that I've used in the past. Not sure what (if any) we'll switch this board to in the future. If we did, I wold be funding it, I don't have extra money at the moment though.

Re: Favorite Forum Script
My favorite (free) script would definitely be MyBB. Only because that's what I have most experience with.
And it's quite like vBulletin. My favorite (paid) script would be vBulliten, although xenforo looks really, really nice. I'm a vb coder though

RE: Favorite Forum Script
From my experience, I consider vB as best, in sense for security, installation and tweaking. Though I always liked phpBB for its simplicity, just hard to keep it error-free, updated.
